I’ve spent my career in manufacturing, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that leadership rarely shows up the way we expect it to. Sometimes it looks like a tough decision made under pressure. Sometimes it’s a quiet moment of humility from someone who could have gotten away with taking credit. And sometimes — like the week I found myself writing about American football instead of soccer — it shows up in the most unexpected places, if you’re willing to look for it.
That’s really what this space is about: real reflections, not polished theories. I write about what I see, what I’ve gotten wrong, and what I’m still figuring out about leading people well in an industry that doesn’t always slow down long enough to ask the hard questions.
